Hess Persson Estates — founded in 1978 and long known as The Hess Collection — is a Mount Veeder estate winery in Napa Valley, paired with The Hess Collection Art Museum on the property. Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate's Mount Veeder mountain vineyards is the core of the program, released as The Lion Mount Veeder Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, the Mount Veeder Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and a mountain-fruit Reserve, alongside the Malbec-led 19 Block Mountain Cuvée and a varietal Mount Veeder Malbec.
Iron Corral and Allomi extend the Cabernet Sauvignon program elsewhere in Napa Valley, and the Lion Tamer line adds a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Malbec-led red blend and a Sauvignon Blanc-led white blend. Hess Maverick Ranches sources Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles and Sauvignon Blanc from California, and an entry-tier California-appellation range covers Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, plus the Petite Sirah-led Treo Winemaker's Red Blend. The winery trades today as Hess Persson Estates; hesscollection.com no longer represents its live site.
