Editorial profile
Andrew Murray Vineyards is a Santa Ynez Valley winery founded by Andrew Murray, who discovered Syrah while traveling through France's Rhône Valley before training in viticulture at UC Davis and interning in Australia's Shiraz country. Syrah remains the estate's central variety, bottled as an Estate Syrah and, from ~4 acres at Watch Hill Vineyard in the Los Alamos Valley AVA, as a single-vineyard wine; the estate also grows Grenache and Mourvedre for varietal and blended bottlings. Enchante, a white blend of Roussanne and Grenache Blanc with a splash of Viognier co-fermented alongside the Syrah, rounds out the Rhône-variety focus.
