Editorial profile
Sine Qua Non is a Rhône-variety producer founded by Elaine and Manfred Krankl, best known for Syrah and Grenache alongside smaller amounts of other grapes such as Petit Manseng and Touriga Nacional. Its defining trait, by the winery's own account, is that it does not keep a stable lineup: nearly every bottling receives a new, one-off name each vintage rather than a recurring product line, so the winery's own wine list reads as a sequence of one-time releases running from its first vintage in 1994 to the present.
That makes most Sine Qua Non wines identities that exist for a single year only, which is why this atlas carries just two rows for it rather than a full portfolio: the 1994 inaugural release and one of the few names the winery has repeated across vintages.

Wines
Sine Qua Non's inaugural release, a 1994 Syrah of 4.5 barrels; the winery gives nearly every subsequent bottling a new one-off name each vintage, so this founding wine is one of the few stable identities in the catalog.
blend
One of the rare bottling names the winery has reused across consecutive vintages (2017 and 2018) rather than retiring after a single year.
