Editorial profile

Gloria Ferrer is a Carneros winery founded in the early 1980s by José Ferrer, of the Spanish Cava-producing Ferrer family, and his wife Gloria, after whom the estate was named. It was the first sparkling-wine estate built in the Carneros AVA: the first 50 acres were planted in 1984 and the winery opened in 1986, on what is now more than 300 estate acres.

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, grown for both traditional-method sparkling wine (Carneros Cuvée, Royal Cuvée, Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, Brut and Extra Brut bottlings) and still wine (Carneros and single-vineyard designated Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, including Sangiacomo, Durell, Willow Springs and the estate's own L-Block), form the core of the portfolio. A small still-white bottling of Malvasia Bianca and a Carneros Pinot Blanc round it out. The winery's own product pages name each wine but do not publish blend percentages in static form, so composition is left unstated here rather than assumed from style.

25 of 25 wines link to the page they were read from. The list is what a producer publishes about itself, one citation at a time — it is not a catalog, and a wine missing from it is uncurated rather than unmade.
