Editorial profile
FUTO Estate is a small, appointment-only winery at the base of the Mayacamas range in Oakville, built around two hillside estates — the original Oakville property (formerly Oakford Vineyards, purchased by Tom and Kyle Futo in 2002) and a second site in the Stags Leap District. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the portfolio in two site-specific expressions, FUTO Oakville Estate and FUTO 5500 from Stags Leap, joined by the Cabernet Franc-centric CFX, the multi-site SETA red and white blends, and a limited-production Sauvignon Blanc, FUTO Blanc. Per the winery's own site, 2021 marked winemaker Jason Exposto's thirteenth year at FUTO and twelfth as head winemaker.
