Editorial profile

Clif Family Winery was founded in 2004 by Clif Bar co-founders Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford in St. Helena, Napa Valley. The estate farms over 90 acres of vineyard, all organically farmed and CCOF-certified, plus a 10-acre farm growing fruit, vegetables and olives, and participates in the Napa Green Vineyards program; the company has been a Certified B Corporation since 2023.

Winemaker Laura Barrett draws primarily on the estate's Howell Mountain and Oak Knoll District vineyards for a varietal-led range headed by Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a Grenache rosé, a Bordeaux-style red blend (The Climber), and an easy-drinking "Vino Del Pranzo" line named for the founders' cycling trips through Italy. A food truck on the St. Helena tasting-room property has been named Napa Valley's best.

7 of 7 wines link to the page they were read from. The list is what a producer publishes about itself, one citation at a time — it is not a catalog, and a wine missing from it is uncurated rather than unmade.
