Editorial profile

Charles Krug is a St. Helena winery founded in 1861, the oldest operating winery in Napa Valley. The Mondavi family has owned the estate since 1943, now into its fourth generation of stewardship. The portfolio runs from a broad Napa Valley Series (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon) up through single-vineyard Limited Release bottlings, the Bordeaux-style Generations Family Reserve blend, and the Vintage Selection Cabernet Sauvignon, made only in years that meet the estate's quality standard. A small sparkling line, Carolina Bale, rounds out the range. Winemaker Stacy Clark draws on block-by-block knowledge of the family's own vineyards for the limited-production wines.

Wines

8 of 9 wines link to the page they were read from. The list is what a producer publishes about itself, one citation at a time — it is not a catalog, and a wine missing from it is uncurated rather than unmade.
