Editorial profile

Opus One is an Oakville, Napa Valley winery formed as a partnership between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, joining Napa Valley's winemaking tradition with Bordeaux's. Its flagship, Opus One, has been produced every vintage since 1979 and is built for a long aging trajectory, its character shaped vintage to vintage by growing-season conditions and by the site. Overture is a second wine drawn from selected estate vineyard parcels. The estate describes its work as an effort to capture "an expression of time and place" in each release.
